Q: Once we gave notice of intent to leave, they now want to enforce a clause in the lease, can they do this?

I have 2 cars in my name and a company vehicle. This has been the case since march of this year. My wife went and talked to property manager of our intent to leave at end of lease. Now they say that we have to many cars. Received an email that they are going to tow one, and the edacity to ask which one we wanted towed. Is this a form of harassment since they never brought up the subject for 9 months, and after saying we were moving out at end of lease, they want to push this issue. Can they do this, or what grounds do I have as a tenant? Is this harassment now?

A: There isn't much you can do to prevent landlord from towing, other than threatening to sue if they do. If they have the car towed, you will have to pay the tow company to get it back. You could then sue the landlord in small claims court for wrongful towing, and the court will decide if the landlord or you violated the lease. Try to work it out, or find another place to park a vehicle to avoid towing.
