Q: Plaintiffs attorney hires expert Expert is friend of defendant and support defendant Is it mandatory to keep him?

The original attorney is fired for this reason but new attorney States LA Superior Ct requires retaining this expert, friend of the defendent,opened rehab together, supports dependent in wrongful death. Dependent w/o license has sober companions provide drugs/alcohol. After 7 months of no MD txt just called in RXs, pd 24/7 Companions, frequent missing person/relapse, is found dead w/ sober companion in the home/ went 12 hours without cking her p/ testimony. Patient is found leaning over from a sitting position, coroner says death was within 30 seconds, however leaning to the left the left-arm is a top the right in the right hand is a cell phone tightly clenched - lying just barely in the hand is a syringe with the *cap* on the needle. They did not test the contents of the syringe or Rxs. The heroin was across the room, everything scattered,due to La rule drugs on see no investigation it was determined accidental. She is not his first death. Nor his last. Do they have to keep expert?

A: It may be if the case is ready for trial and the expert was listed. It may be possible to petition the court to get that permitted but you need to sit down with the lawyer on this.
