Boerne, TX asked in Divorce for Texas

Q: what happens if I don’t sign my divorce settlement?

I asked my lawyer to stop the divorce but he said my husband had also filled and therefore it did not matter. We did not go to trail. I felt pressured to sign the offer the day we were to go to trial. This settlement was nothing like what my husband had offered. He had raided all the accounts and the lawyers said that was fine. He valued our home at $680,000 and we couldn’t even get $430,000 when we tried to sell it. My husband promised me a portion of his monthpension to live on and that was omitted. The lawyers said they couldn’t rule on future income. But we as partners earned and contributed to that pension as a couple the whole time were we together, 25 years. The one thing I kept telling my lawyer was I do not want the house. I have no one here and that is what I got at an over valued amount. While my husband got everything. I divorced him because he lied, stole and mistreated me. And now he got everything and I am 15 years younger than him, disabled. Can I not sign the degree

A: There is a lot going on with these facts. I suggest you ask your lawyer for an in person meeting so that you can get a better understanding of what is going on with your case. Sometimes, we lawyers have to remember that using legalese all of the time does not always work. Good luck.
