Q: Dog got out of my yard & chased another Off leash dog into street. it was hit and run by a car. Shared owner liability?
Other guy had one dog on leash, another off, and a child with him. My dog was chasing off leash dog around. She isnt normally aggressive and if guy had his dog on leash the situation would have ended faster as i would have been able to catch my dog. No one got the license for the hit and run truck. The other person's dog leg is broken.
A: Other owner is responsible for his dogs injuries by virtue of violating the leash law just as you would have been liable for your dogs injuries bc he was off leash if he had been injured.
