Boca Raton, FL asked in Family Law for Florida

Q: My ex moved to Puerto Rico after my kids emancipated in Florida CS case. Can she reopen my Florida ended case in P.R.?

I just got a letter from the child support stating that I owed money from the time they moved to Puerto Rico till now. when they moved to Puerto Rico my Florida child Support case had ended. one kid is 23 years old not going to school other is 19 years old going to college in Puerto Rico.

Can my old case be reopen just like that?

Can they enforce CS in Puerto Rico from an old Florida ended case?

Can they take the amount from two child's just from one child?

A: Do I correctly understand that, under the terms of your Florida child support order, you no longer owe ongoing child support for either child? If so, send a letter back to "the child support" (It's unclear whether you mean Puerto Rico or Florida), explaining that. I'm guessing that she didn't tell them the full story.
