Asked in Divorce for Kentucky

Q: My lawyer is refusing to ask for things i want in my divorce case. Such as lawyer fees, maintenance, and everything else.

I am legally entitled to. Also husband was told by court not to cancel any kind of insurance. He lost his job(drugs) and our insurance was cancelled. I need a lot of dental work and counseling for the emotional stress as I am having a very hard time dealing with this. He told me I should have started paying for it. And that if he would have cancelled after I started paying it that he would do something about it but otherwise he will not do anything. The company paid for the insurance. I have. been unemployed the majority of our. 25 yr marriage. Is he allowed to do that Is it up to him to decide what I can and can not ask for?

A: It is your decision what to ask for but you should hear your attorneys rationale for his current recommendations. Just because you can do something does not always mean you should do something. If you are not satisfied with his answers, get a second opinion.
