San Antonio, TX asked in Divorce for Texas

Q: What should I be asking for during a divorce?

Weve been married for 20 years. He asked me for a divorce on Dec 16 of 2017 but is just now leaving. We have two daughters, one 18 in college, one nearly 17. He is an 18 year veteran with the police dept and is currently a detective. He's stated that he will let me have the house and not ask me for anything from it, 1000 a month for child support for a year, one daughter on car insurance and both on health, and half of debt. I don't make that much money so I'm worried about the financial aspect, especially since I will only get child support for a year.

A: You should take a complete inventory of all of your assets accumulated during marriage which would include real property, retirement, pensions, 401ks, bonuses, and other property that you may have. Let us know if you'd like us to assist. 888-343-4529.
