Dallas, TX asked in Intellectual Property for Texas

Q: I am an author. I have recently published 7 books.

I am an author. I have recently published 7 books. They are independently published by me through amazon.com. I only authorized amazon to distribute my content. However, I have found websites distributing my copyrighted material without my permission. Also they are distributing them for prices extremely higher than I listed them to cost on amazon. The pricing is extremely important because the content I published and the price was determined by beliefs and my faith. However, I have not authorized the distribution of my books to anyone other than amazon. It seems these sites are also making a profit of which I am not receiving royalties from the sales. I would like to speak with someone about what can be done. Thank you.

A: Feel free to schedule a consultation.

You can start contacting them, and asking them to stop, ask for an accounting and payment of royalties, share of profits.

If not, you can try legal channels.

If you filed for a registration of copyright that may be helpful to your case.

Best luck.
