Hazard, KY asked in Criminal Law for Kentucky

Q: I pleaded quality to a shoplifting charge today it’s way under 500. And took 90 day probated for two years reconsidering

Took 90 days probated for two years, and they didn’t even have anything on file for the case today. Pd told me to take the deal that even if I didn’t it would be the same next time and told her they didn’t even catch me with any products I signed a paper saying I did it but just did that to get it over with because they held me in a office for over an hour called the police and went to the county attorney and filed for charges mind you and this was in 2015 just wanted to know if I had any chance of really beating it because I didn’t even wanna plead guilty

A: It’s impossible to say whether you could’ve beaten the charges without a thorough review of the file. However, now that you’ve pled guilty, it’s unlikely that the cour will set aside that plea.
