A: Two factors to look at: (A) Do you have UM coverage (that is, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage?, and (B) Are the $50K in bills negotiable, and if so, how much? Even if you have no UM coverage, the bills may be negotiable to an extent that you can obtain a fair net recovery.
