A: If you mean an unsafe movement for you - likely so. If you mean unsafe movement for the merging car - likely not. If you are talking about cars merging in front of you from an on ramp, if you are on an interstate, I believe there is a federal law that requires you to allow merging traffic into the lane. There may likely be a state law equivalent for state roads as well. Even if not an out right law, you allowing cars to merge in is the proper thing to do. If you are talking about cars merging in front of you from other travel lanes - well that's a different story. You both have a responsibility to do that safely. I am guessing you ought to have mirrors or camera's or something to assist with the front 'no zone' blindspot. A simple front facing camera should do the trick but I am quite sure you are not the first truck driver to encounter this problem so it would likely be best to ask other truck drivers what they do to be safe in situations like that. Best of luck.
