Miami, FL asked in Child Support for Florida

Q: Can I create a disclosure that protects me from being held responsible for a child who’s mother wants dna test

This is a a Six year old child who’s mother wants dna test only for peace of mind to know who the father is. This was a one night stand. She had originally claimed someone else to be the father after a couple years dna showed he was not . It is left to me and another candidate after other dna test showed Two or three other men where not also not the father. She now wants me to take dna test but says it is only for peace of mind and nothing else . So can I create a some sort of notarized disclosure that lets me take the dna test but protects me from being held responsible of the child if results turn out positive ?

A: No, probably not. Child support is to benefit the child. Therefore such a waiver very well might hold up, should she seek to avoid it. I suggest that you refuse, absent a court order.
