A: The assignment database lists an assignment from you to TI. https://assignment.uspto.gov/patent/index.html#/patent/search/resultAbstract?id=20180348152&type=publNum

You should consult with a local patent attorney to sort out the nuances of what you assigned versus what is in this patent.

If you were employed by TI, then most likely they own your rights to the things you invented for them while employed to invent.

A: Mr. Flynn is correct. Upon review of the file wrapper (i.e., all of the documents filed with the application so far), the application appears to have been filed with the assignment. TI filed as the applicant and two inventors signed the declaration and assignment on Jan. 25, 2018 in that filing. Assuming you are one of the two listed inventors, you likely had an obligation of assignment in your employment contract, but I'd have to review to confirm.

I'm licensed in Texas and I'd be happy to discuss the matter with you to help you sort things out. Considering the sensitivity of such matters, you might consider restricting any further discussion to a private setting (e.g., in person, phone call, or e-mail).
