Louisville, KY asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: Foster gave me a Dog w/o having me do paperwork. Now claims the dog is LMAS Property.

Can they take my Dog?

Lady gives me dog that was registered as Found. No one claimed dog after 10 days of being registered. She says shes a Foster through LMAS but I believe is only someone who reported this dog found. She gave me the dog with out having me fill out paper work or making sure LMAS fixed and microchip. I have since moved out of state with the dog. She now claims I Must bring dog back to Kentucky to have LMAS spay/vaccinate her and Fill out an Adoption Application. Louisville Metro Animal Services Foster Policy states it is the Fosters responsibility to make sure to have person interested to fill out an application before "meet and greet" and must be fixed and micro chip before adoption. I'm fearful or having my dog taken away due to the "fosters" negligence. This foster told me it was ok to take her home and to take her to my veterinarian of choice. I have text proof.

A: Possession is 9/10 of the Paez. Don’t bring him back but do make sure he is neutered and chipped by your vet, has all his shots and is registered in your name.
