Kearny, NJ asked in Traffic Tickets for New Jersey

Q: Hi, My fiance was driving my car which is registered and insured under my name. An officer pulled us over

we had asked what was the reason for the pull over the officer responded to my fiance who was driving and i in the passenger side and the officer said for driving with a suspended license and suspended registration. my car is legit my license is not suspended and i dont know how the officer was able to assume that my fiance license was suspended prior to asking for his I.d. my fiance did not get arrested even though he had a warrant within that same town we got pulled over in. i have received a ticket the officer said was mine, which was letting someone driving with a suspended license to drive and my fiance received 7 tickets but for some reason they are all under my name even the driving with a suspended licence ticket in which i wasn't driving and my license wasn't suspended.

A: You definitely need to get Counsel to sort out this mess. I am not sure why you were pulled over unless there was something amiss with the traffic stop. Please seek out counsel to assist in this matter.

A: Sounds like you have some defenses to the tickets, however if he was in fact suspended you are guilty of the allowing an unlicensed driver to drive. Unfortunately today police officers cars are starting to get license plate scanners so they know if the owner of the vehicle is suspended just by running the plates of the car. This is rather new and many attorneys don't even know this yet. Make sure you get yourself a good lawyer as most of these tickets should be dismissed against you.
