A: Your question is a little unclear. If you are charged with driving under suspension, the penalty depends on your specific charge and whether you have prior driving under suspension charges, among other factors. Generally, a party has a strong incentive to get the child support office to comply the license to get the best outcome in the driving under suspension case. The person who owes back child support may want to call the child support caseworker assigned to the case to see if they can make a payment and enter into a payment plan so that the state will comply the license. There is a reinstatement fee to pay to the DMV. Depending on the specific facts of the case, the driving under suspension charge may not result in more than a fine if the license has been complied due to coming back into compliance with child support payments.
