Odenville, AL asked in Uncategorized for Alabama

Q: Can the emergency room stop you from going back with your fiance?

She is freaking out and wanting me back there with her but they just told her she was being silly and that I couldnt until the doctor seen her. But she is really upset and hates going to the doctor.

A: An Alabama attorney who works with hospital/healthcare administration issues, patient bill of rights, etc. would know best. But as a general matter in any jurisdiction, a doctor, nurse, or other treating ER staff who asks an accompanying visitor to leave for sound reasons is not likely to have their judgment questioned by the hospital. It's their turf, the pace is intense, they've got a lot of customers, space is tight, and it's their call. You could consult with an attorney to review the matter in further detail if you believe there was a violation of rights.
