Asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: Can I get my dog back?

My dog was in the back yard. A nice and clean back yard. He had food and water and prefers to be out side. So we went to take care of family business and got a call from a cop saying they have our dog. Like what!? And that we are facing animal neglect! He had 2 open wounds on his ear from scratching cause of ear mites. (That we got medication for) the cops took the dog from our back yard and left before calling us. They also said if animal control didn’t take him they would just leave them with a neighbor and our door was unlocked! They said it was raining but the fact is he hates being inside and I would rather my dog feel more comfortable. We was also two hrs away at the time and hadn’t been gone for 24 hrs and they are saying all these horrible things... I just don’t understand....

A: Did the dog have food, water and shelter in your back yard. If so, what kind?
