Q: Can a landlord keep his personal belongings in garage of my rental property and keep his dogs on my rental property?
Landlord claims we’re on a year lease but still hasn’t given us any paperwork to sign or in regards to terms of rental. He has all his personal belongings stored in the garage of our rental property. He also has 4 dogs on the property in a gated area. Is this legal?
A: It does not matter what he says. If you never signed a lease, you are a month to month tenant. In that case, you can give him notice that if he does not take his things out of the garage, you will move 30 days from your date of Notice. Write your note on the end of the month and send it to him personally.
