Q: was going to confront an online pedobaiter scammer but turns out to be a police officer
i was on a online 18+ dating site that's known for its high density of scammers and fake account, and came across someone pretending to be a minor, the whole conversation was a painfully apparent that it was someone trying to expose pedophiles so i social engineered the conversation for a meet up with the full intent to confront the scammer and talk with them. however when i went to confront them i was instead welcomed by police now i'm being charged with 4 felonies including obstruction of justice and exploitation of a minor. even though i told the police i knew i was speaking with an adult and had every right to believe it was a scammer.
