Asked in Criminal Law for Kentucky

Q: will I go to prison on my first offense 2nd degree assault charge?

Long story short a drunk guy started insulting my girlfriend and when he quickly got up and approached our table we all thought he was gonna hit her, so I jumped the gun and hit him in the head with a beer bottle and punch him until he fell down, then I left the bar before the police came. The police officer didn’t even take a report when we came because the guy was so drunk. I am a veteran with 3 tours and this is my first offense other than an underage drinking citation when I was 18. I’m being charged with 2nd degree assault and I have an attorney . I’m also currently a DOD contractor and have a secret security clearance that will be effected by anything in my record. What do you think might happen to me?
