Q: My partner of 24 yr and husband of 15yr has stepped out on me. Am I entitled to alimony and child support ?
And I don’t have the means for a lawyer.
A: You are entitled to make a claim for alimony based on your need and your husband's ability to pay...child support needs to be paid by him in accordance with the child support guidelines found in Florida Law...Depending on the income of your husband and yourself, he may also be liable for attorney fees...you should contact the local legal aid group (and/or the Florida Bar) regarding the ability to get a lawyer...You can also file the petition for dissolution and request for support (alimony and child support) yourself.
