Tallahassee, FL asked in Divorce for Kentucky

Q: Judge will not settle divorce.

In Divorce, we were unable to agree to a financial settlement. So, it was left up to the Judge. I was told he'd complete it by January-2019, at the latest. Since that time, I’ve heard nothing. My attorney says the judge will not respond to request for a timeline. Unfortunately, the interim financial arrangement the judge has required me to follow will bankrupt me by the end of this year. I was told by the court administrator that because there are no other judges in my county, I could not be referred to a different judge. I am in Kentucky. Any advice would be welcome.

A: You can file an AOC 280 Notice of Submission form in the case, which in theory requires the Court to get a decision out in 60 days. Of course, the question then becomes: will the judge get the opinion out it just ignore it.
