Q: A grandma legally adopts her grandson from the court after parental rights are terminated from parents.
Can the grandma (now legal natural parent) later on privately adopt the child to a better fit home?
A: If what I am reading between the lines is correct--that the grandma who adopts her grandson is now asking if she can later "adopt" the grandson (i.e. give the grandson away) to another couple I would advise the grandmother to think very long and hard about this novel plan. Why? Because it looks like it could be viewed a ruse. Explanation: If the biological parents ever clean up their act and come looking for there son they might be very upset to find out their son might have been horse traded behind their backs. (Believe me: Stranger things have happened in this area of law.)
