Philadelphia, PA asked in Traffic Tickets for New Jersey

Q: I got a ticket for improper display of plates while the car was parked in my school parking lot. This was in NJ.

I see the law 39:3-33 states that any car driven on a public highway must have plates clearly displayed. Can I fight this ticket as my school parking lot isnt a public highway?

A: Unfortunately that would not be considered a winning defense. You best bet is to take off the license plate holder which is blocking the plate which is the general reason this ticket is given.
