Q: If i am given money for a hospital bill from the company I work for, does that disqualify me from workers comp
The accident was at work and basically a 1 ton chain hoist and metal plate broke free hitting me in the head causing a catastrophic head injury. I was asked if we could just pay medical bills out of pocket, now that I’ve been out of work I need that money to stay afloat, I have migraines so bad it’s blinding. I could submit the bill to my boss but I’m afraid that might hurt any chance of getting workers comp. I still haven’t seen a workers comp doc. Not sure what to do????

You need to hire a lawyer who practices workers' compensation asap. You have sustained a serious injury and concussion/head injuries are nothing to be taken lightly. Your employer owes you medical and income benefits and obviously isn't willing to do what they are supposed to on their own. Get with a lawyer asap, the initial meeting is free.
