Q: Can my citation be dismissed?
I received a citation today in el mirage. The officer did not fill in the date of the incident. The space is blank. The only date on the citation is the court date. Can this be dismissed?
A: Sometimes facial errors are enough to have a ticket thrown out; the clerks may not be about to enter the ticket information into the court system without a date. BUT, the cop can always fill it in on his copy and file it that way. The cop's copy is the ticket, all you have is a carbon copy.
