Charlotte, NC asked in Traffic Tickets for North Carolina

Q: Can I request dashcam footage without a lawyer?

I was ticketed for running a red light. It was yellow. I told him it was yellow, but he was adamant on giving me a ticket. I do not want to except this ticket or fine for something I didn't do.

A: So you are willing to potentially waste several days of your life and get humiliated in Court haggling over who had the better perspective you or a trained officer - all to avoid a simple red light ticket? This is good 'ol boy North Carolina - right off the bat, your odds of successfully beating this ticket yourself are less than slim and none and hiring an attorney to go to trial is cost prohibitive. Your best bet is to hire the cheapest traffic attorney you can find and have this ticket resolved without you having to go to court so that it doesn't affect your license or insurance. There are somethings in this life that are worth fighting the good fight over - a red light ticket ain't one of 'em whether it was yellow or not.
