Monmouth Junction, NJ asked in Criminal Law for New Jersey

Q: Looking for lawyer on Middlesex county Nj for 3rd degree terroristic threat charge that I didn't do or say

My wife started receiving calls and texts saying I was cheating with this person for 2 week's straight all day and night from numerous numbers blocked numbers etc... so one day after work my wife, daughter and I took a ride somewhere and another text with my car in my parking lot at home came in saying I know where you live watch your back. So we went to south Brunswick police to file a complaint against them. Afterwards about 3 hours later the police came to my house and arrested me for threatening someone to shoot up their home which is the same person we filed the complaint about after the officer who took the complaint called them and ask them to leave us alone. They didn't find a weapon let alone I never called or spoke to her she called my wife. We have every text every call log etc.. even the officer statement that he called them and then received a warrant for me after he spoke with them later that night is there anyway around this or can I get this thrown out with my proof?

A: We are not permitted to solicit business on this site. So you need to look around and contact lawyers that interest you. Many cases are filed and a great many are shams. My firm recently represented a Giant's player who was accused of domestic violence and we were able to have the TRO dismissed. But many cases linger causing damage. The best way to make sure you are vindicated is to hire a talented attorney.

A: Unfortunately nowadays when you file a complaint against someone they file generally file a cross-complaint against you. That's what appears to have happened here. That being said I am sure the police wanted some proof from this person to file the charges just like they wanted from you before they filed the charges against this person. It could be made up it could be real but either way, you need to fight the charges. Set up one of the free in office consultations that most of us criminal lawyers offer, it's your best and only defense.
