A: I am going to restate this slightly to make sure I am reading this correctly. It appears that Decedent had a biological child that was then legally adopted by separate parent(s). Under PA law it is clear that the Child will inherit from the adoptive parent(s) but will NOT inherit (under intestacy laws) from the Decedent. However, under PA law it is possible that the Grandchild of the adoptive child may be considered an intestate heir. There are some conditions to be met in order to do so, so the grandchild should meet with an attorney to determine what his or her rights might be.
