Q: Was sitting in my car in the white gridded area in the cheesquake rest area on the GSP, and ST gave me a parking ticket?
I was in my vehicle when an officer asked me for my license and registration and give me a ticket for sitting in my car while waiting for a passenger who went to the restrooms,he came knocking on my window and asked for my license and registration while I could have nicely moved my vehicle into a spot ,instead I waited 2 minutes on the gridded white area of the parking lot as an accupant in my vehicle needed to use the restrooms emergency.
Was 2 min later and he came out and an officer didn't give me a change to move nor told me to move and I was instructing any traffic nor endangering anyone , I could have put my car in a legal spot nicely, but the took it in his own hands and give me a ticket for sitting in my car waiting for a passenger in the white gridded area of the parking lot.
the ticket has my information on it as he took my license so I got a parking ticket with all my information that shows I was in the car at time of the ticket, with my engine on ready leave.
A: The simple answer is the officer did give you a break as you could have gotten a ticket for obstructing traffic even if no traffic existed. You're not allowed to sit park or stand in a gridded area. Thank the cop pay the ticket and move on as they do not need to give you a chance to move your car.
