Owensboro, KY asked in Criminal Law for Kentucky

Q: charged with trafficking in the 1st degree, 1st offense for selling fake meth to a paid police inf

My friend was hounded by a guy he knew from the past to sell him some meth. After many calls from him he finally said ok and made up a baggie of fake meth(b12 powder). Well turns out the guy was setting him up to get busted by the cops. The guy records the video and about 2 months later the cops show up at our house and arrest him trafficking in the 1st degree, 1st offense. They show him the video and he sees it is indeed him on the tape. The cops say they sent the " meth" to lab and had it tested and it was meth. There is no way that can be true. What are my options with this? I go to court on the 1st of Nov

A: Wait for the lab. If it was not meth, it’s a misdemeanor.
