Q: a municipal law deputy, says I am breaking law bc I am harassing my exgf, but he never saw her texts is this legal?
My ex asked me what else I needed to know to move forward and when I answered she said I was harassing her and would file. Municipalities police (not in my jurisdiction calls and says he is unbiased and never even saw the messages but that I need to cease or face penalty of law. I then asks his name to which he gets angry and louder stating “I told u this is deputy____ at the beginning! Do you not have a first name officer? I ask; (he is MAD now states under his breath his full name angerly, says he is in a different city than I reside also. I asked if he thought it was a good idea to accuse people of things Trained detectives had not even taken time to investigate? Much less make a call?He is furious now and I tell him “look you must be having a bad day let me let u go I don’t want to risk upsetting you more, but maybe you should look at both sides before you call again, goodbye.
Is this legal for a cop to do? And if not what should I do or is it not worth the trouble it may cause?
A: Mr Kollin is correct. Call back and see if he exists. However, if she has been harassing you, file a criminal complaint and cease all communication with her.
