A: If you are smart you won't attend any hearings, you will hire the cheapest local traffic attorney you can find. That and of course stop speeding. However, if the clerk's office sent you a notice of a new court date typically you would just attend the updated court date not the court date on the ticket. BTW because you can not just pay your ticket off that means your ticket is not a mere infraction but a criminal traffic citation. If you don't handle this right you could end up with an insurance increase, a suspended license or worse - all the more reason for you to do the smart thing and hire a local traffic attorney. The most common reason people want to do it themselves is they claim they can't afford to hire an attorney. There are several Jacksonville traffic attorney that allow you to make payments over several months.
