Q: Am I able to change jurisdiction from Louisiana to Florida?
My Custody and Support case was filed in Louisiana in 2016. My children and I moved to Florida just prior to my ex husband filing for divorce. The children have permanent residence in Florida since 2017. My ex husband refuses to pay court ordered child support, this is the third time I will have to take him to court on this matter. I can no longer afford to continue to make the trip to Louisiana for court when he chooses not to pay. Can I change the venue for my case to Florida? If so how?
