Evansville, IN asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: Dog i adopted was found to be pregnant when they went to spay her

I asked this question in another post but i want to make sure i am doing this correctly. They are refusing to take my adoption fee because i am fostering the pups i did not ask to have my fee waived i was paying it the day they took her to spay her. They sedated her and cut her open without any ultrasound to make sure she wasnt pregnant. That is when they discovered she was pregnant. She had already been in my home almost a month. I do not want them taking the pups they said i have no option they are their property. They werent even gonna let me keep one of them. With them refusing to take the payment for the one i adopted is that how they are approaching saying the pups are their property?

A: Possession is 9/10 of the law. Do not let them in your home again. Mail them a check for the adopt fee for mom and then stop talking to them altogether.
