A: Being that this is your first offense, the chances of you facing hard time is pretty slim; however, it's going to take some negotiating with the DA's office where you were arrested. Depending on additional factors, you may be able to qualify for an alternative to sentencing which would 1) keep you out of jail, and 2) keep this from going on your record.
