A: With any heroin possession charge your brother is looking at three to five years in jail. That's I suggest hiring a good lawyer as are many ways to reduce or avoid jail time entirely especially if he is a first-time offender. Most of us criminal lawyers offer a free in office consultation I would suggest that he sets one up to learn how a lawyer can help him.

A: Possession of heroin is a 3rd degree indictable offense punishable by 3 to 5 years in state prison and a $15,000 fine. However, there are always defenses and motions available, as well as diversionary programs that can lead to dismissal or downgrades.
