A: Well its pretty serve when you figure as the law stands today, you have a criminal record of arrest and if the substance found tests positive for THC you looking at up to 180 days in jail (rare for first time offenders) 6 months loss of your drivers license, $1000.00 fine and other surcharges and penalties, plus probation. I would suggest that you seek the assistance of a good lawyer and to start this process most of us criminal lawyers offer a free in office consultation where you can learn how a good lawyer can help you reduce or eliminate the penalties I mentioned above.

A: It is severe enough that you could have a criminal conviction and loose your driving privileges for 2 years. As a first offender you most likely will not go to jail. But once on probation many get violated and do end up with worse sanctions. So I would recommend you be represented by a lawyer.
