Q: I was stopped for a suspended license but it's not. I was then stopped by another cop who said it wasn't, what do I do?
The second cop who stopped me ran it through the system and said it wasn't suspended and doesn't know why the first cop gave me a ticket, but said I still have to go to court. I don't know what to do. I dont think I should have to pay the ticket because the officer lied and said it was suspended when it is not
A: Let's just get things nice and sparkling clear. Because you very clearly have a few wrong ideas here. First, you weren't stopped for a suspended license - you were likely stopped for something else and then the issue of a potential suspend license came up. Second, the charge you mentioned is a criminal traffic violation - you can't just 'pay the ticket' - so you don't have to worry about that. Third, the first officer likely didn't 'lie'. Did it ever occur to you that the first officer may have simply made a mistake? You know, like all the mistakes you have made in your question here. As to what you should do - you can go to court with your valid license and ask the ADA to consider a dismissal or you can hire a local traffic attorney to get everything squared away for you. Based on the content of your question there is no doubt that hiring a local traffic attorney is what you should do - that and of course, based on getting stopped by two different officers, you should work on improving your driving. Best of luck.
