Camden, TN asked in Divorce and Family Law for Kentucky

Q: Why am I being refused a drivers license in Kentucky when I provided them with SS card and prior driver license from TX?

My last name was changed 11 years ago after my parents divorced it was done in the decree. I have never in 11 going on 12 years had an issue doing anything. My social security card was changed as well but my birth certificate wasnt. I've been run around by KY stating they couldn't accept the certified order my SS or my previous Texas state issued driver license because my birth certificate wasnt updated. However when I called California to get the birth certificate changed I was informed that was I missing the documentation required because it was not a court petition to change my name it was simply done by the divorce decree and that typically it doesnt need to be changed? I've been stuck in limbo now between three states arguing back and forth but my ID is about to expire... so I need this resolved.

A: You should consult a competent traffic attorney to handle this for you bc it is an administrative nightmare.
