Chicago, IL asked in Criminal Law for Illinois

Q: What do I do if I’m accused of a theft because I was in the room but I was working and they say my dna was found?

I’m a CNA an officer called me a week ago saying I was accused because the woman said I was the last person seen in the residents room the officer said that they were doing a dna swab on the bag and dna cells from my wrist were found but i never stole anything the only thing i can remember is probably putting stuff back in a bag and also when the officer originally call he said it was debit cards but when he called and did a follow up call he added that $500 was also missing so now I’m left confused because I’m being accused of something i didn’t do that could jeopardize my job and my freedom
