Q: I got a ticket for going 77 mph in a 55mph zone. It's the first time I've ever gotten in trouble a first offense.
I was wondering as a 24 y.o. male what is the best next step I should take when I arrive at the court? And can it be lowered?
A: The best next step is to hire a local traffic attorney and not go to court and try and handle this yourself. Look at it this way, if you aren't a mechanic would you ever think to just go and crack into your car's transmission and try and rebuild that bad boy? It's the same for legal work - you aren't an attorney, so it would be just as dumb for you to go to court and try and handle it yourself as it would be to try and rebuild your car's transmission if you aren't a mechanic. Oh, and stop speeding!
