Q: My husband just found out from a letter that he Fathered a daughter 7 years ago.
It was a one night stand and he was not told about the child. If paternity proves he is the Dad is he liable to pay child support arrears? Or only need to pay from this point forward?
A: He could be liable for up to two years back support. It used to be five years but the law changed limiting it to only two years. He needs to hire an attorney asap to make sure he does not get stuck paying more than the law requires.
