Kinder, LA asked in Child Custody and Family Law for Louisiana

Q: Do u have to go in front of a judge to sign custody over to a family member? Is there a way to get copies of agreement?

Had my son when I was young! As stupid as it sounds, I was tricked into signing custody over too my aunt (shes who raised me). I was told that the papers I was signing was for something else . My fault for not reading them , but I would of never imagined her doing something so cruel to me. When the truth came out I was devastated. The past 6 years I've been active part of my sons life but only on her say so. I can only be a mom when she allows me to be and I'm sick of it. Do I have any chance at getting some of my rights back?? I wouldn't ever take him from his home but I want some kind of say so .. I would like to get him on weekends.. anything is better than what I got now. she tells me when I can an cant be his mother and I'm fed up! Do I have a chance? If so, where and how do I start? Can I obtain the papers that were signed so I can see for myself what I auctally signed?? Please help.

A: You can hire an attorney to change custody and get copies of whatever you signed.
