Cullman, AL asked in Child Custody, Child Support and Family Law for Alabama

Q: My ex threatens me to go back to court for custody of our son, but acts like he doesn't want him. What can I do?

He was ordered to pay child support back in October, but has only paid one month so far. He keeps giving the court the wrong names of his employers on purpose to avoid payroll withholding. He only makes token attempts to talk to our son for only two minutes at a time every night. He calls at the exact same time with the exact same questions every day. He'll ask my son, how are you, what did you eat for dinner, and what did you do in school today. Then he'll say he has to hurry and go because he knows we're going to eat dinner soon and that he'll talk to him tomorrow. I'll tell him that we're not busy and he can talk more, but he still rushes off the phone. He lives in a one bedroom camper, and dates drug addicts/dealers/felons. What can I do about this?

A: You can go back to Court and ask for your support. If he is a danger to the child, you must show that to the Court.
