Q: outstanding charge F3 - 3929 A5 - removing security tag - apparently outstanding warrant
My boyfriend apparently was seen removing a security tag from an item at a store. He changed his mind and left the item and the store and was unaware that it was even seen. We recently learned of an outstanding warrant for this incident. He has an extensive criminal history, however has been doing well up until this day. He is not currently on probation or parole. I know he needs to turn himself in to deal with the charge, but what is your best professional guess that will happen to him because of this? He has no idea i am asking, but i have been diagnosed recently with a permanent disease that limits my ability to do many things and he is a major support for me. I need to plan the best i can for the both of us. Thank you for any information.

The best plan is for him to hire an attorney NOW, and for that attorney to contact the police officer that filed the charges against him. Perhaps something can be worked out from the start, and maybe even have the charges withdrawn. In any case, perhaps he can avoid arrest and incarceration from when he turns himself in until the preliminary hearing date.
I see you're asking your question from Northampton, and I do appear in cases in your area. If he'd like to discuss things, I'd be happy to speak to him if he contacts me offsite.
