Austin, TX asked in Copyright for Texas

Q: Can I use educational youtube videos as a resource for learning in my for-profit learning platform?

I have a for-profit learning platform but it is free for people to use. We only make money when someone is called for an interview through our platform. The videos are not the primary source for learning, they are only a resource for people to refer to when they get stuck while practicing on the platform. If I embed Youtube videos into my platform as an extra aid in that situation, would that be considered fair use? Would I have to ask for permission from every content creator? If it isn't fair use, could I just put links into the page as resources and have them go to youtube to watch the video? The company is incorporated as a C-Corp in Texas but does business nationwide.

A: I agree with Mr. Garciaacosta's response. It would be good to work with counsel. Given the scope of your intended project, there are likely other intellectual property related issues that need to be addressed.
