Q: I'm disabled and they took my stimulus check in the State of Florida how do I appeal the diversion
I won a appeal with the state about reporting to the credit bureaus ...I am in the same situation as the rest of the world because of the virus ....Now I guess people that owe child support no matter what the situation don't count like we are sub human
A:
Sorry for your pain. But I hope you have at least learned a very important lesson that all too many divorced parents never learn: that ALL parents are responsible for and must support all their children--until the children reach the age of 18. Period.
All parents who shirk their parental responsibility by failing to pay court-ordered child support--for any reason--usually learn (later) that they STILL owe BACK child support--even if their child(ren) are 25 or 30 years old.
So, since all state governments and the federal government now coordinate with each other, every state government and every agency of the federal government are (or can be) aware that you are one of the zillions of parents who still owes child support.
That is why your stimulus check disappeared; and unless that $1,200 has erased your entire child support debt you can expect to see all other future government gifts disappear too.
