Q: Can an officer write a seatbelt ticket, cracked windshield ticket, and driving while suspended ticket after your let go?
After an altercation I left in someone's truck, I was pulled over less than a mile away, I was arrested and charged for the altercation, they released me and took me to someone's house, a few days later I received three tickets in the mail for seatbelt, cracked windshield, driving while suspended. I always wear my seatbelt, the truck isn't registered to me, and my license was suspended for child support which I was behind on. I've never heard of anyone getting a ticket after the fact, and I was never told the entire time I was in custody that I was getting a ticket
A: Actually it is very common to get tickets after the fact. For most tickets the police have up to 30 days to send you one and a few tickets like DWI and leaving the scene of an accident have even a longer time line. I suggest hiring a good lawyer.

A: The police have 30 days to serve you with the tickets that you received. The driving while suspended can result in a high fine and/or license suspension. I would speak with a lawyer skilled in these matters.
